9 November – Monday Ramblers – Jalon Circular

Six of us today, maximum allowed under covid restrictions

Just 14c when we met, which felt quite cold

Even the short climb at the start did not prompt us to remove top layer

But the sun soon made an appearance which raised the temperature and our spirits

This is mostly a level walk through woods on good footpaths

So a bright sunny day makes a big difference

It felt very similar to walking in the UK on a warm summer day

We soon warmed up and removed the top layer

The highlight of this walk is the viewpoint where we have our banana stop

We lingered longer than usual today

It was lovely to see Barry and Linda again

And the “proper” sweets he distributed were particularly welcome

This photo gives a good impression of just how lovely this walk is

It was at this stage that I realised my satnav was not working

I changed the batteries, but that did not make any difference

Fortunately I know the walk well and did not need the device

What a nice way to spend a sunny November day

Stats

Time taken – 3.5 hours
