We moved into level 2 of lockdown yesterday, which means
we can drive to the start of a walk now.
Last year we introduced summer walks during June and
September. These were shorter walks of
three hours and starting at the earlier time of 9am. The aim was to have a relatively easy walk
and get to the bar before the day got too hot.
All walks were cancelled at the start of lockdown, and we
do not intend to start them again until we feel it is quite safe to do so.
However we now can recce suitable walks starting at the
same place as we will do with the group.
This means I can record the route, note the time it takes and select
suitable places for water breaks.
We did the first one today, from Parcent to Alcalali
along the pipeline.
It was a hot day, temperature about 30c, so a good day to
recce a summer walk
It was 9km and took us three hours, including three ten
minute water stops
Lovely be out walking again, but we really missed the
company of our walking friends.
Stats
Time taken – 3
hours
Distance
– 9 km
