Parcent to
Benichembla – 28 October 2019
Tuesday 7April
What a shock last night to hear that Boris Johnston has now been moved to intensive care. It was bad that he was admitted to hospital yesterday, but it now sounds much more serious than previously admitted.
Here in Spain the news is
better. The daily stats are improving
day on day for almost a week. The
figures are still grim, and only second to Italy, but at least there is some
positive news for a change.
The lockdown has been extended
to 26 April, and not likely to be any relaxation of the personal restrictions
before then. But there is some talk of
more trades being allowed to work again.
And if the figures continue to improve there is some hope that things
might be relaxed after Easter. But this
is all just wishing and hoping at present.
Sent out the third lockdown
video today. If you would like to watch
it just follow the link below:
Javea to Denia Tower – 8 April 2019
Wednesday 8 April
Jan finally did a large shop
in Jalon this morning. I won’t say a
weekly shop, because it is eleven days since she last went. I can quite understand that she puts it off
as long as possible.
There has been a lot of
chatter on Facebook about having to use the shop nearest to your home. So she was a little concerned going to
Jalon, rather than our small, local shop in Parcent. But there were no road checks or any other
problems.
However the queue outside
Masymas was much bigger than last week.
About twenty today compared with about six last time. This may be because it will soon be Easter. Or it may be because less folk are going to
Benissa because of the talk about police check points and fines of 600 euros!
She was also surprised that
pretty well everyone was wearing a face mask.
Must have been homemade, because they are pretty well impossible to buy
here. The only exception was a man
standing behind her at the tills, who was spluttering and sneezing. No mask, no handkerchief and no
consideration for anyone else.
She did a massive shop, which
should last for the best part of another two weeks. It included 5 litres of red wine, which
might not last two weeks!
