6 April 2020 – Lockdown Day 25

Fig Tree Walk – 5 April 2018

Sunday 5 April
Good news today, the figures for Spain are down again.
This is the third time in three days, so it looks like it might be a trend
Much too early to say for certain, but really nice to have some positive news for a change.

We were surprised to hear that a walking friend who lives in a very isolated area had been stopped by the police when walking their dog.   Apparently they take the dog out early in the morning to avoid anyone else, and use a track which only passes one other house.

Not sure what the police were doing in such an isolated area, but they were asked where they live and then told that they must restrict dog walking to once a day and no more than 260 metres from their home.

Obviously they were no risk to anyone else, nor indeed at any risk themselves, but clearly that does not matter.   “The law is the law”, and clearly it is going to be strictly enforced.   They were not fined, but would be wise not to be stopped again – certainly not by the same policeman!

Jalon to Parcent – 7 October 2019

Monday 6 April
Today’s project was to make the third lockdown video of walking photos.

Although I enjoy choosing which photos to use and then making the video itself, it took me some time to get going today.  This was mainly because it was another sunny and warm morning.  By the time we do all our routine chores each day, it is usually about 11am.  We then do our daily project until we had our lunch at 1pm.]

But today it was so nice on the naya that we had a midmorning break at 11am, and by the time we got going again it was almost lunch time.    So no morning project.

After lunch we usually play our wargame for a couple of hours.   But today Jan went to work in the garden and I settled down to the video.

Selecting the photos, transferring them to my IPad and then making the video is getting easier, and faster, each week.   But deciding which tune to use as the soundtrack gets more difficult.

Last week Tom Gorman suggested using Gerry and the Pacemakers “You’ll never walk alone”.  I wasn’t sure, because although I like the song I thought it might be too sentimental.   However having tried it on the video I think it works really well.

I still have a little work to do on the video, and then transfer it to YouTube.   But I will put a link on the next blog when I have done so
