One of our favourite walks, with spectacular
views from the summit
Again we had a cold start, with everyone
well wrapped up
But within half an hour we had warmed up for
the scramble
Fiona, from our Monday Ramblers, had joined
us to see how she gets on with the harder Thursday walks
The car park was full and we feared there
might be another large group doing t he same walk
However it turned out to be a TV camera crew
Plenty of seats for our banana stop
Unlike our last visit when Barry could not
find a seat
Though warm, it was very hazy – especially in
the distance
Short break and time to consider the main
climb
There were a lot of trees blown over,
obviously from the recent storms
Not a steep climb, but a long haul as shown
from the bowed heads
But well worth it when we reach the top and
the coastal and mountain views
Sunny for our picnic, but the distant haze
was not good for photography
Tanya received an unexpected urgent dental
appointment during our picnic
So we had to increase the pace to ensure we
got back in time
But we still found time to stop and admire
the goats
By now it was hot, and we welcomed the cool
breeze
We arrived back at the cars at 1530, exactly
as planned
Pleasantly tired after another very
enjoyable walk
