We expected it to be cold, but not as cold as it was
When we met in Jalon it was zero centigrade
As we started the walk it had already improved
And we were warmed up by the time we started the climb
By the top some had started to remove jackets
It was pleasantly warm when we reached our banana break
Although I was not tempted to remove my jumper
21 had booked in for this walk
But Anneke and Toon could not find the car park
We usually climb to the summit on this walk
So today served as a recce for a new Monday walk
It is one of many we have tried to shorten to make it
less than 5 hours
However it proved a little too short at just 4 hours
Next time we will add an extension by doing part of the
climb to the summit
It was good to welcome Jose’s husband Bernd on his first
walk
He normally has Spanish lessons on Monday so will not be
a regular walker
As we reached the Ermita most of the group were in
shirtsleeves
We got there at 1pm, exactly on time for our picnic lunc
Everyone enjoyed the walk, but it would be
better with the extension
