Eight of us today for the first walk after lockdown and summer walks
It should have been Jalon to Parcent along the pipeline
But temperatures of 32c were forecast, so we opted for a summer walk instead
It was 20c when we started at 0900, which was quite comfortable walking weather
Most of the walk was through woods, so we were not bothered by increasing heat
It was nice to see Richard and Brenda again, for the first time since lockdown
They have walked with us for a few years as non residents
But they have now moved here permanently, so we hope to see a lot more of them
We also welcomed Anne and Colin to their first walk with the group
They have recently bought a holiday home in Jalon and want to explore the area
We were quite surprised than any UK residents would visit Spain at present
About half of the group are non resident and have no plans to visit until 2021
It is really pleasant to walk with a smaller group
And also to do a familiar walk where I don’t have to worry about finding the track
Most of this walk is on good tracks with some tree cover
It reminded us of walking around Rothbury in Northumberland
But of course we have not been able to do so since last Christmas
Time taken – 3.5 hours
Distance – 7 km
Total Ascent – 200 metres
Temperature – 20-30c
